The Brand New Potluck Basket is on Sale for the whole month of March (yay) I really think this basket is super versatile, it fits the Tip and Mix bowls, grandma bonnie's pie plates, and the 2qt covered casserole!
Now everyone out where I live knows that my Mom makes the BEST coleslaw in VA, and possibly the rest of the cole-slaw making world. Now everyone out where I live knows that my Mom makes the BEST coleslaw in VA, and possibly the rest of the cole-slaw making world. Unfortunatly when you ask her for a recipe she just lists the ingredients and says "taste it" but one time she did try and write the ingredients down, and this is what we have:
3 Cups Mayo (or Miracle whip)
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup mustard
1 Tbsp Vinegar (to taste)
1/2 cup cream
2 tsp. celery seed (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste (optional)
3 heads of cabbage, grated (OR a bag of coleslaw already done up from the store, I usually opt for this option)
Mix everything except the cabbage and blend well, add sauce to cabbage to make moist, the longer you let it set the more it will combine and get a bit soupy.
It's starting to get springy outside, which means cook-outs, and you can transport your coleslaw by putting it either in the 2qt crock or in the tip and mix bowl, fill up the potluck basket's protector with ice and then put your coleslaw on top, it will stay chilly!
